below expectations The Igloo RCA 8000 btu window air conditioner does cool but there are 2 things wrong with it one no matter what direction you turn the air deflectors to the air still comes out basicly to the front not to where you directed it to, second the air conditioner switches from cooling to fan long before it reaches the set tempature, and 3rd you cannot feel the air flow from the unit unless your right in front of it my desk sits only 9 feet from the unit and I cannot feel the air flow and thats with it pointed right at me. I bought a SPT 6000 btu air conditioner before I bought this one it works 100 percent better then the RCA 8000 so I put the SPT 6000 back in the window it cools the room better and I can feel the air flow just fine. I thought the RCA 8000 btu would cool better since it's a larger unit, I was wrong I was going to give away the SPT 6000 btu air conditioner but now I will keep the SPT 6000, and give away the RCA 8000 air conditioner instead
