Sleeved air conditioner My old AC unit died in the middle of the heat wave early this summer. These through-the-wall units are rare to begin with, and cost is accordingly high. I'm stuck at home so had to shop online. After a week of looking & doing research, I found this AC unit at a cost I found reasonable. I thought I understood the reviews so I ordered it. It arrived in good condition when expected. I had a friend ready to help put it in. Then he tried to plug it in and the plug was different. Without reading the installation directions, he merely left to locate a converter plug. While he was gone I read the booklet and found out that it MUST have an outlet that fitted the plug. It needs an outlet like that for my oven, not the usual wall outlet. It was then I understood the one negative review I read here. Now I understand that this unit takes not the usual household 110 current, but 220. I wrote to Amazon and they credited my account immediately, even before I sent it...
